Description

Archer (Skytt), Ewald Dahlskog for Bo Fajans, Gefle, Sweden, 1930s.

A rare Art Deco ceramic tile relief depicting an archer, designed by Ewald Dahlskog for Bo Fajans, Gefle, during the 1930s. The composition exemplifies Dahlskog’s distinctive approach to form, balancing stylized figuration with the elegant geometry characteristic of the Art Deco movement.

Executed in glazed ceramic with a refined grey-blue palette, the relief possesses both sculptural presence and subtle tonal depth. The work has been newly framed in a silver-toned wooden frame, offering a complementary setting that enhances the cool nuances of the glaze.

Dahlskog served as artistic director of Bo Fajans and played a pivotal role in shaping the artistic identity of the manufactory during its most celebrated period. His works remain highly sought after by collectors for their craftsmanship, sculptural quality, and timeless modernity.
