A hand-thrown glazed stoneware bowl by Danish ceramicist Eigil Heinrichsen, created in his own workshop in Birkerød during the 50s/60s.
The wide, gently curving form is animated by a bold abstract motif in deep black, painted in one fluid, continuous gesture across the pale glaze. The contrast is graphic and confident, the looping composition almost calligraphic in its clarity.
With its generous diameter and relatively shallow profile, the bowl carries strong visual presence, equally compelling displayed flat as a sculptural object.
Signed “EH Danmark” to the underside.
