A Swedish Grace pewter dish designed by Sven Arne Gillgren and produced by Guldsmedsaktiebolaget (GAB) in the 1930s.
Cast in solid pewter, the petite oval dish is centred by a sculptural relief of a dancing female figure, surrounded by stylised leaves and foliage. The softly modelled relief and restrained ornamentation are characteristic of the Swedish Grace period, combining classical references with a distinctly modern simplicity.
Small in scale but beautifully detailed, the piece works equally well as a vide-poche, desk dish, or decorative object.
